Take a look at Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church. The Fountain is my current ministry setting. FA is a very diverse congregation in a ripe ministry field in the arts district of Paducah, KY (Memphis Annual Conference of the UMC). The church has a growing nursery and children’s ministry, a youth ministry, and several older adult’s ministries including a UMM (United Methodist Men) and UMW (United Methodist Women’s) group....

Ok, I’ve got a plan. There was an amazing parishioner at my last charge. She was a self-starter in pastoral care, though it’s likely she doesn’t know that. Self-starters are amazing. They’re the life source of a functional church (you know…..other than God). Pastors love, love, love them and need them. Churches need them too. Sometimes they don’t know that. I loved this woman very much and still do....
